Unit-5

Welcome, today I was very busy, I didn't get to complete my personal plans but I did exercise for an hour. I want you all to know I am grateful we are here because we are right on time for our purpose and our assignment in life.

1. I thought the practices were alike in one main way and that is they both focus on breathing. Breathing is the catalyst in helping the transformation. They both are training the mind to reach higher levels of consciousness.

The practices have two different goals we are seeking to achieve. The lovingkindness practice is intended to guide our breathing to heal the suffering as we decrease our focus on ourselves and our needs as we transfer compassion onto others. the primary goal is to create a heart felt lovingkindness that diminishes your self centeredness and quiets your mind.

The subtle mind is more intentional and purposeful process. Our goal is to cultivate wisdom by training and taiming the mind. We are reaching toward psychospiritual flourishing. The subtle mind practice is the strive for unity consciousness and pure awareness.

  1. Brenda, I love this beautiful picture with the orange flowers in the background but most of all I love the quote. I am going to take that quote, cherish it, and apply it to my everyday life. I so believe it is true. Thanks that was just what I needed to hear.

  2. I enjoyed the subtle mind exercise much more. I think this is more my style of dealing with stress. Having the steps to reach unity consciousness can help me better in the long run.

  3. Brenda, I love all of your pictures and quotes! I always come to your blog for kind and encouraging words. Thes two exercises were both ways in which I need to work on mental fitness. I need to learn to forgive, but most of all I need to practice taking care of and loving myself. But before I can do this and be successful, I need to quiet my mind. I think this practice will be the most challenging for me because my mind races constantly. I find myself losing concentration and my mind moving from one thing to the next and during this practice I could not let go of my focal point but for a few moments and this will take practice. But I will continue to work on this because I would like to reach a higher level of mental fitness.

  4. Hi Brenda,

I Like your post and I like your spiritual sayings. I learned throughout this project that I had to let my situation go and let just trust God; but I was so angry and hurt I didn’t think I would be able to make it through my storm I made it but I have to take it one step at a time. This class is really helping me with unforgiveness.

  5. Brenda I love your Blogs for this week and You have really inspired me. To me life, is about discovering your own path and walking that path as God leads you. It's God who put the path before you to walk and it is up to you to discover that path. Our pursuit in life should be to fulfill what God wants of us, which we can do through trust and obedience, which includes love. Pursue God and you will fulfill your purpose.

First and foremost God's purpose is for us to please Him. God wants to be pleased with us. Revelation tells us that he created all things for his pleasure, which is according to His purpose. So if we strive to walk the path that God has for us and be fulfilling to what he wants then we do well.

I suppose Jesus Christ said it best. Jesus said, "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness" (Matthew 6:33). Jesus also said to seek and we will find (matthew 7:7). So pursue God with all of your heart and you will not have to be concerned about what his purpose is for you because you'll be living it.

I loved the Subtle Mind exercise and the Loving Kindness Exercise they both put me in a place or on another level that I did not want to leave. Could you imagine being in those states at all times not ever getting tempted by the worlds needs and wants just being of love and knowing love is near. This is very powerful Brenda, talk to yuo later! LUV Ya!
